Having cruised 10+ times but never with Cunard we were very much looking forward to our recent trip on QE from Southampton to Rome.
Was it much better than our previous experiences? Yes & no! Embarkation very smooth.
The ship is beautiful and very well maintained.
Plenty of room even on sea days with it always being possible to find somewhere to sit and enjoy the sun.
Food and service in both the main restaurant and self-service was of a very high standard.
Evening entertainment in all venues of a very high standard and varied.
Most of these positives we have come to expect with other cruise lines but Cunard do seem to be slightly better.
Negative points were the class system on the ship with certain areas being out of bounds or ,in the case of part of the spa, accessible at a price – 300$ for a couple.
Plus the high cost of drinks in all venues especially wine in the restaurant.
We would not hesitate to use Cunard again, especially if the itinery and price were right.
