The ship was easy to get around

Queen Elizabeth

Time to reflect on our recent cruise to the fjords and the North Cape on Queen Elizabeth.

Embarkation was painless and after an enjoyable lunch we were pleased to find our cases already in our oceanview cabin.

This was on Deck 1, which had been allocated on a Getaway fare.

We have never had a cabin on QE as low down before, but it was the quietest cabin we have ever had.

??t was under the Golden Lion but this was quiet by 1pm ish.

No creaking, no ship noise.

People we met who were on same deck but port side were not so lucky with crew noise beneath from early hours.

QE is a most enjoyable ship, easy to get around (as is her almost twin QV).

We ate mostly in the Britannia dining room.

The Lido is fine for afternoon tea but can be a bit too busy for us.

Food at any venue was very good.

Quality of meat and fish was first rate.

Plenty to do, if you want, on sea days.

Three lectures by Lord Winston were extremely good.

It was standing room only if you did not get there at least 40 minutes early! Ports of call were very good, some we had been to before.

Geiranger sadly was changed to Andlesnes but this proved to be no disadvantage.

Wonderful weather, and calm seas made this a most enjoyable return to beautiful Norway.
