Just returned from our first Cunard cruise on board Queen Elizabeth from Singapore to Dubai.
We were expecting the Queen Elizabeth to be the flagship of Cruises but we were sadly disapointed.
The ship was very traditional, which we expected, but dark & shabby in places.
Buckets were placed on the floor in several places in the main areas, Lido, entrance to Theatre to catch leaking drips from faulty airconditioning units which had stained the carpets.
The Lido food was not hot, there was uneaten spilled food left under the tables that was not cleared up, which I found quite appalling, food on the window ledges.
splashes on walls etc, just not good enough.
The Lido staff seemed totally uninterested and seemed unhappy in their work.
By the second week the Ship had Norovirus and self service food stations had to closed and we had to be served everything by uninterested staff.
The evening entertainment was poor compared to all other cruises, very outdated singers, has beens etc.
not as shows as on other ships.
We did enquire of the general age group of the cruise before we booked and we were assured that it was a varied international age group.
This was not the case and we felt rather like we were on a floating retirement home, which is perfect for most on board but not unfortunately us.
We will keep to Celebrity and Princess in future which we have found to be far superior in every way.
Sorry Cunard not good enough !!
