Previous cruises have always been taken with P&O who in the past have been excellent but regrettably, due to cutbacks, are sliding backwards, thus a change to Cunard, who whilst claiming to be a premier brand do not, unfortunately live up to their past reputation .
The ship itself is very spacious & comfortable with plenty of seating areas, inside & outside. It is clean and very Art Decor with plenty of wood furnishings.Cabins (sorry Staterooms!) were adequate although the showers were somewhat small and the rooms lacked tea/coffee making facilities. The Entertainment troup were not up to the standard of the P&O theatre companies nor were the entertainment staff generally.
We found the service in the Lido restaurant very lacking with used crockery etc left on tables instead of being cleared once occupants have vacated them .
All in all not a lot to choose between Cunard & P&O, what is gained on the swings is lost on the roundabouts.
