Just returned from the Canaries on the QM2.
Excellent cruise in many respects – the service, entertainment and food in the Britannia restaurant were particularly good.
However there were some negatives.
The corridor ceiling in which cabin 5148 is located leaked water throughout the cruise and we had towels and electric dryers on the carpets for most of the time.
The padding in some seats in various places including the Kings Court and Britannia restaurants was worn flat so you felt as if you were sitting on the chair frame – you learnt to sit down carefully! The planetarium was not working throughout the voyage – which was a pity for us as we were looking forward to the experience of the only planetarium on a ship.
The Kings Court layout and food did not, we thought, compare with those on the QE and QV – the restaurant is included in the planned refurbishment and it clearly needs it.
