Overall we did enjoy our time onboard Victoria but I do have to point out that our rating for this cruise has dropped to three stars, the reasons being as follows.
First and formost the usual dedication and willingness of the staff was just not there, eg, a large number of the buffet staff were more interested in standing around talking than clearing and re-setting tables.
Also, senior staff were openly turning a blind eye to scantily dressed young ladies using the facilities.
We are not prudes and are not offended by this but but why publish rules and then not adhere to them? Also one or two members of the staff, and I include speciality dining venues, made it quite clear they did not want to serve you directly or personaly.
For me though my largest gripe was during busy periods having to wait up to twenty minutes to engage a bar waiter and five to ten minutes on top of that for the drinks to arrive.
Not only is that frustrating but it’s costing the company money, probably caused by a reduction in staff.
All that said there was much to enjoy and we are looking forward to the next cruising adventure.
