Cunard standards are always high especially on the dining front.
It was a late booking and had the choice of cruising Britannia or Azura both offering balcony cabins but choose Queen Victoria as the the timing, cruise itinerary suited us better although it was an inside cabin!! Not my cabin of choice, usually have a balcony cabin but my husband convinced me it would be OK.
It wasn’t ok was allocated on deck 4 towards the back of the ship, the noise from the air conditioning units that run through the middle back of the ship was terrible.
After 3 nights I complained to reception was offered 3 other inside cabins accepted one but soon realised it was still in the same area but 2 decks higher, it had been vacated by previous guest hence it was free.
It suffered from the same problem so had to stay with it…….lesson to me never have an inside cabin again.
Everything else on ship was lovely especially being its first cruise after a world cruise I expected some wear and tear.entertainment was varied and of a very high standard.
Late booking means we paid for shuttles but in Lisbon and Lanzarote there was none where previously there had been.
We over came the problem with a taxi but Lanzarote was terrible no shuttle and no taxi after lunch available we had to stay on board.
Table companions said it had taken up to 40 mins to get out of port to transport this is totally unexceptable.
Why would anyone pay higher fare with the thought of free shuttles when only one port (Madeira 22 Euro return) was available? Overall we enjoyed Cunard but they should really have a rethink of having tea and coffee making in the cabin I know room service is available but timing for morning drinks never seem to work for us.
