The recent upgrade to Balmoral was good.
I was however a little underwhelmed by the “bean counters” measures of cutting costs: whether it was the Gold Oceans present, the food offerings (no Sunday Roast for example), guest speakers or cabin cost uplifts.
This was a short trip only and perhaps showed in these offerings but the lectures and speakers were the worst of my nearly 200 night aboard Fred Olsen.
The trip was pretty smooth and enjoyable though.
The staff as usual friendly and helpful.
