This was a really good holiday, especially as we were very lucky with the weather.
It gives you the feel of being on a very happy ship.
With it being a smallish ship it can get to some ports that’s bigger cruise ships would struggle with, which is great, but it does mean you have to lower your expectations as regards evening, and especially daytime entertainment.
but there was always something to do.
The food was generally very good and the service excellent.
Would certainly recommend a winter cruise to northern Norway, scenery is spectacular.
This is a cruise that would normally justify a 5 star rating, however we were really let down by the onboard hotel staff.
We had requested a double bed, and although this had not been guaranteed the assumption was we would be accommodated, however when we went to our cabin it was a fixed twin room, reception staff accepted they were aware of our request, but said they could not move us until everyone was onboard.
Just after we set sail we were notified that no double rooms were available unless we paid an extra £800.
This was on a ship that was only half full and we latter in the holiday did receive confirmation that a double bed cabin at our grade of cabin, was actually free.
You only find out how good a company is when you present them with a problem! Such a shame but we will not be booking anymore cruises with Fred Olsen.
