Just returned from a 7 day Alaska cruise followed by two day trip on the Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to Banff.

Everything ran like clockwork.

Transfers spot on time and comfortable.

Once with Rocky Mountaineer, it was a very slick operation.

The trip to Alaska was fantastic mostly because the weather was very kind to us.

Glorious sunshine throughout which is apparently unusual for Alaska.

Our two excursions were spectacular.

Whale watching in Juneau and the White Pass railroad journey were well worth the extra money.

Our time on the ship was wonderful.

The food in the Lido was very good and the selection amazing.

We agree with others that it is much more hygienic to be served by the staff rather than the guests helping themselves.

The entertainment on board was first class.

The singers, musicians and dancers were much better than on our previous trips with Cunard.

Cleanliness and standard of the staterooms were excellent.

All the staff on board were friendly and helpful.

The only slight disappointment was the evening dining experience.

Two evenings the service was very slow.

The food nowhere near as good as Cunard.

Upselling of specialist coffee after dinner without telling us ordinary coffee was free.

The worst thing was totally none enforcement of dress code.

People dressed in Suits and ties or even tuxedos on the formal nights sat next to people in tee shirts and shorts or Hiking boots and Anorak’s straight from a mountain hike and into the dining room.

( Maybe that is our fault for only having the Cunard experience previously and expecting a higher standard??? ) However….overall a fantastic holiday….loved it all.

Thanks so much to all at Bolsover and Holiday Directions,
