First the good news.
The ship is beautiful and clean and the resident entertainers are excellent but the ship is not designed to cater for 6000 people especially on sea days.
The bad weather was unfortunate but even the staff were saying they hadn’t experienced anything as bad before..this resulted in Spain being missed out completely which is what most people we talked to were looking forward to the most.
Falmouth is hardly a substitute for Bilbao and La Coruna.
We heard that another ship on the same route had made it to Bilbao which made it even more frustrating and one couple said they’d had the same experience before and ended up in Weymouth.
The worst part was on disembarkation.
All the ladies toilets bar one were locked and I had to get from the buffet restaurant to the other end of the ship to find it and of course there was no toilet paper left..
We had chosen MSC as we had been with them in 2009 and 2011 and had the best time but nothing lived up to expectations.
We were even expected to pay for some entertainment which was included before and the food was nowhere as good.
They didn’t even have a wine which was the only New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc on their wine list.
A discount on the same trip taken within a year has been offered but no thanks.
