Riviera

We spent two weeks on the Riviera, returning 10 days ago.

The decor on the ship was beautiful, however we were very disappointed in the Grand dining room, it was very bland, no flowers on the table, no atmosphere, so only visited that twice.

The theatre really needs updating, it’s very old fashioned and definitely not up to the standard of other ships.

The evening entertainment was awful, very amateurish, we walked out of all bar one of the shows.

Service and food were superb, better than any of the many other cruise ships we’ve been on.

The drink prices were extortionate, plus 18% on top, made them ridiculously expensive.

So expensive that we opted out of the daily gratuities, I think they got their tips from the cost of drinks.

We had quite a few very wet days, and on those days there is nothing to do onboard, so we spent a lot of time watching films in our cabin.

For what we paid for 2 weeks away, which is far more than we have ever paid before we were disappointed.

It may be the best dining at sea and a beautiful ship, but for two 70 year olds we were bored.

The cruise wasn’t for us, so wouldn’t sail with them again.
