This was the first time on the ship since we were last on board 20 years ago, so it obviously shows signs of wear and tear. Some of the wooden deck planks oused water when standing on them, rubber seals between boards had failed.
The ship was well presented and very clean, the crew were friendly and helpful, the quality of the food was generally good although the portions on the small side in the Meridian restaurant.
Drinks were reasonably priced with 2 for 1 on some draught beers from time to time. Our outside cabin was a decent size and had a small sofa and a bath, a first for us.
The entertainment was generally good with some highlights with Solo performances. The Arcadia orchestra were excellent.
The seas were kind to us as was the weather.
The usual early sunbed bandits were ever present in the pool areas! We found the Aquarius pool deck on the back of the ship the worst as nearly half the deck area was populated with smokers, the smoke pollution entering the inside lift area and self service restaurant when the automatic doors opened. This was the same on the promenade deck, when walking around the deck we had to walk through second hand smoke.In my opinion, any smoking area should be segregated on open deck away from the general population or banned altogether.
In general we had an enjoyable experience apart from a few negatives and would sail on the Arcadia again.
