Just back from UK/Ireland/Northern Isles on Arcadia.
Lovely cruise.
There are some changes, cruising constantly evolves especially post covid/lockdown, some things for the better some we miss.
But they are all minor, and most could be alleviated just by asking the excellent staff.
I hate to say it but Arcadia seems blessed with a vociferous older complaining guest make up, inc.
the “never againers”.
Many of the complaints in the reviews being made now tell you more about the person than the cruise.
Take them with a pinch of salt.
Arcadia is being refurbished but still looks well and cared for.
Staff were all excellent.
Dont expect sunny weather all the time this far north, although we had two fantastic days of close cruising the islands/mainlands as the Captain made up for having to skip one port due to bad weather.
Quite why people queue for Dinner at 5.15pm in Fixed Dining when they can get what they want table wise in Freedom is beyond me, ditto the “panic” on peoples faces as they secure a buffet table at lunch and go off to get food whilst one or more guards the table, there were always tables, seats available.
I quite enjoy watching the muppets, professional, Victor Meldrews as they seek out the slightest things to moan about.
The cruise was good, the ships fine, crew/staff all very friendly and attentive.
Food selection a bit reduced but never a problem finding something you liked (and more of it if you asked the Waiters).
2000 people on the cruise, I bet 99% thought it was good.
