Flam was the main reason for choosing this cruise and the railway in particular. The day in Flam was one of sunshine and heavy showers and in particular we were unlucky that our time on the train was in a downpour at both the stops. I know you can’t legislate for the weather but it was still a disappointment.
The rest of the cruise was great with Olden being a familiar port of call, but the surprise ending was Bruges. Beautiful city and on the day great weather. Definitely down for a return, even the mini adventure of getting from Zeebrugge to Bruges using 4 coaches and 2 trains via Blankenberg was well worth the £8.25 return for 2 senior citizens on a Saturday.
Arvia is a large ship and 7 days isn’t long enough to be able to make use of all the facilities and compared to other P&O ships the atrium is lacking that initial wow factor and is essentially just another space to use.
We did really enjoy the Limelight Club and Sam Bailey, we’ve never been disappointed with that venue.
First time using freedom dining and took a couple of days to get it right, had to rearrange a couple of theatre visits because of it.
Having a food intolerance in the group was, again, no problem where we went with menus being made available the day before.
Slightly disappointed by the Art Corridor – can’t really call it a gallery as it just a corridor between 2 point with the Limelight Club in the middle.
We have booked Arvia again for next 2 years so will take our experience this time forward to those cruises.
