The actual cruise was very enjoyable and lived up to expectations.
we were comfortable and well fed and the staff were wonderful.
However, as an 80 year old, trying to book this cruise was a NIGHTMARE.
I spent 2 entire hours trying to upload photos, print boarding passes, check in online, check in the flights, provide proof of covid vaccinations, proof of insurance.
Book “MY HOLIDAY” on the ship etc etc .
I was made to feel that if I didn’t do all these things then we wouldn’t be able to take the holiday.
In the event, when we came to board the ship the staff announced that if we hadn’t printed the boarding pass, never mind they would do it for us.
Not ONE PERSON looked at the covid details or the proof of insurance.
The two hours I spent which led to me breaking down and crying was almost un-necessary.
The staff onboard told us that the “My holiday” app was not necessary.
We went to the theatre and were told as we hadn’t booked we would have to wait until all the booked audience were in the theatre first.
when we were allowed in, the theatre was half empty.
Not everything about technology is an improvement.
HOWEVER.
I asked for assistance, and it was always always there, whenever I needed it, from getting on and off the ship, and through the airports.
