7 March to Barbados from Birmingham the best way to do a Caribbean cruise no hassle after checking in luggage which you next see in your cabin great, very nice mini suite in our case.

Eight of us cruised for a celebration, six flying from Birmingham, two from Gatwick the following day.

Lovely day in Barbados before departure on Saturday evening followed by a day at sea to settle in.

Loved all islands except Dominica nothing much there unless a trip is taken.

Did our own thing on all the islands with the exception of St.Lucia where we did a repeat of the catamaran trip to the Pitons.

Enjoyed the trip but larger catamaran than last time and the crew were not interactive as previously, when we had a great time, nor were they particularly friendly.

Can recommend the Rum punch served.

Received onboard invoice on last day – P&O promised us a discount as we were Atlantic level having cruised with them a couple of times before.

Discount not applied to largest purchases on invoice so we visited Reception where we were ‘fobbed’ off saying it could not be amended at the time but it would definitely be attended to at the earliest opportunity.

I knew at the time that this was not going to happen.

We are still awaiting this in spite of several emails and communication to Mr P Edgington, Marketing Director, a reply has been received which was passed to a Customer Services Executive to deal with! The content of the reply is basically thank you and cruise again for another opportunity to restore your faith (rip you off and ignore your complaint).

The essence of the communication has once again been ignored.

Come on P&O don’t leave reminder literature in the cabin promising loyalty discounts if you are not going to deliver it, Do you think all your passengers are stupid and prepared to let you make a fool of us by make errors and empty promises that you do not deliver and expect us to accept.

I am Gluten & Wheat free diet and despite several calls to Bolsover Cruise Club to check that both the cruise line and airline were aware of this and assurances on each occasion ‘YES THEY ARE” once again no meal on the return journey.

How can the order be placed for outbound and not inbound? Every time we travel with P&O this happens, the meals that are provided unless hot are pathetic and lack imagination by the caterers.

Outbound the roll was not gluten free and I wasn’t to good after eating it before I discovered the fact and the cheese was packing with wheat crackers – it says it all, caterers wake up.

I usually take my own salad on outbound flightsnbut it’s not possible on the return journey.

We love cruising but think we will choose alternative operators in the future who we know deliver their promises.

Had wonderful cruise, loved the ports of call, even though we have visited them all before, the ship, cabins, entertainment and food but this has tainted our trip plus one of our group contracting food poisoning after breakfast on the last day which, despite only eating onboard, P&O are trying to say was contracted elsewhere, kind of difficult when prior to disembarkation we had two days at sea.

She is still quite poorly not the souvenir one wants after an expensive cruise! P&O should take responsibility and respect people taking the trouble to try and sort matters directly with them otherwise we shall as already mentioned all cruise elsewhere.

Hope Bolsover can follow this up with P&O and get some results as individuals we get nowhere just patronising reply letters eventually.

Disillusioned passengers.
