I first travelled on Azura in 2010 and I was expecting the ship to look tired after 16 years in service. Well it certainly does not look tired and in fact it is still as magical as the first time we sailed her. Cannot fault the cleanliness, the decor, the dining food was excellent and some of the best staff working across the fleet. I can see this as being a favourite if you like mid size ships.
We did have a problem with the Jet2 transfer from Gatwick to Tenerife as they did not fully unload all the luggage from the aircraft in Tenerife which impacted approx 30 passengers. One of our cases ended up returning back to Gatwick and was then flown to our next port of call 2 days later, then delivered to the ship. Despite Jet2 luggage handlers incompetence which caused much inconvenience, P&O were exceptionally helpful in providing toiletries and additional On Board Credit so we could purchase items that had not arrived until our luggage finally turned up.
Despite this, the Jet2 luggage problem was resolved and P&O were exceptionally helpful and managed to have a fantastic time in The Canaries.
