Very poor experience, have travelled with P and O Britannia before.
Flight ok very good, the boarding was poor, previous cruisers had not yet left the ship and new arrivals [us] were sent to the same area Crystal Room as those departing.
Hence the security advice etc could not be heard ect,ect,.
Arrived at room Deck 15 E315 NO case’s…it was circa 2.30.
meals booked by Bolsover [Good] Orient 6.30.
Dress code not casual ie shorts etc, No change of clothes [no case by until circa 7.00 pm, So had buffet, ha well first day.
Moved to the cabin for sleep, cases arrived, went to bed, could not sleep as chairs above in the pizza bar were scraping across the floor.Until close .
6.00 AM awakened by tables and chairs scraping, WHY to early to eat?, so went up to investigate, STAFF cleaning and sweeping water etc.
checked the metal chairs and tables, some had the rubber plugs missing from the base of the legs, staff told me that had asked for maintenance services to attend to the chairs several times after (no doubt) complaints from cabins below.
BUT had not undertaken the requirement.
NOW WORSE…
air conditioning in the cabin could NOT be set.
It was running at circa 1 to 2 degrees freezing cold.
[other passengers either side when i questioned said the same ]
The steward said it would switch off in due course, it DID NOT.
After 2 days complained to reception desk, said it would be looked into it did not, we had to get into bed or sit on the balcony for the next 12 or so days , from this i caught a chest cold, went to medical floor 4 , they said £120 to see the DR,!!!!!!!!!!, i said just give me cough mixture Ok £9 …
went to the Oriental for meal 6.30 day 2 sorry your table is not available yet as there still passengers leaving , here is a table for 8 !!.
Next day I went to the restaurant organization, to see why we could not get a table for 2? The manager said as previous cruise members had still been leaving [2 days in Barbados to start.]
He could not allocate tables accordingly, BUT we would be top of the list, [what about those at the bottom HARD LUCK ??] Next day, note in the door table for 2 card.
The freezing continued and we complained again to no avail, so i Wrapped a BathTowel around the AirConditioner output vent that increased the temperature to circa 10 degrees, still cold.
My cold is worse,[ but manageable.]
Finally, the ship instruction messages could not be heard unless you opened the cabin door and heard it from the gangway, BUT the captains message regarding who he had married that day , or where he had hidden a duck with a sonnent to go with it giving clues etc was piped in to the cabin.
{Yes if someone told me all this I would think it unbelievable!!]
