Excellent Sky Princess

Bit of a hiccup boarding in Southampton, kept waiting from 11am to 2-15 pm with no explanation as to why, but a beautiful ship once boarded.
The crew on board were all excellent so helpful and cheerful it was obvious they were short staffed but the hard work never fazed them and they were all so pleasant.
The ships decor was beautiful and our stateroom was lovely I will say the balcony was very small but the weather wasn’t very inviting so didn’t spend much time on it, the steward was hard worked with all the rooms he had to take care of but was excellent our cabin was exceptionally clean and he was always asking if there was anything we required.
Was really surprised how easy it was to find a seat in the theatre, the shows were very good especially Phillip Browne who took the lead in lion king in the west end, but maybe it was because we had to wear masks and that really wasn’t very pleasant watching a show, safety first though always felt safe on board.
The food was incredible even the lobster the waiter found time to ask if we would like it removed from its shell, something that has never happened before on a cruise ship in just the main dining room, the waiters were excellent on this ship in all the restaurants we ate in.
One day we ordered afternoon tea because we knew we would miss lunch because we would be ashore walking and could not believe what they brought us a plate of dainty sandwiches, a plate of fancy cakes and 4 scones with cream and strawberry jam plus of course a large pot of tea, they even brought a white linen table cloth to put over the patio table the room service team were incredible, we don’t usually have afternoon tea maybe it’s always like this but what a surprise.
This was a medallion class ship but for us it didn’t work, think they were having a lot of problems with it none of the staff seemed able to use it we always had to state our room number when ordering instead of using the medallion which meant we were unable to order anything on it, seems a good idea and time saving if it worked.
All in all a very good cruise even though the weather could have been better which usually doesn’t bode well for good reviews.
Would not hesitate to book this ship again even reception were very good on this ship always happy to help with a friendly smile unlike most receptions on other ships that are not that helpful and don’t always smile
