3* cruise – 5* price

Travelling solo and paying 200% for the privilege, I booked this 17 day cruise for the itinerary, which I’m unable to fault. Unfortunately, Emerald Princess did not compare with my expectations gained on previous cruises taken with Princess.
After receiving average food and slow service in the main restaurants, I tried Horizon Court in the evening and found the food was below standard and never served hot. After complaining the Ma??tre de did contact me to apologise and informed me I was not the first person to have complained.
Daytime activities were disappointing with numerous repetitive ‘complimentary seminars’ delivered by the spa staff , with a notable lack of guest speakers. Evening entertainment in the theatre was very varied with something to suit everyone over the 17 days.
On the positive side the staff did well to control the Norovirus which affected the second week of the cruise. My stateroom was very clean and I had a wonderful Steward ‘Noel,’ who I never had to ask for anything as he was always one step ahead of me.
With the competition available in the cruise market, I hope Princess listen and act on their passengers constructive criticism and make cruising with them a memorable experience once again.
