Enchanted
Penny Tyler | June 29, 2022 | Princess Cruises | Enchanted Princess
We have just spent two weeks on Enchanted Princess. This is a Medallion Class ship, so everything is done via the Medallion and the app on your phone. This would be fine if everyone was able to negotiate the technology, and if the internet did not continually drop out. All very frustrating for passengers and crew members. The ship was only 45% full, so there was plenty of space for social distancing. The food improved after day 3, though the menu was a bit limited. We felt that they wanted us to eat in the speciality restaurants and pay extra. The entertainment was disappointing, except for Gareth Gates, who made the others look poor. Daytime activities on sea days were unimaginative and repetitive. Cruising is being dumbed down. Few of the little extras that we were used to. Captain’s Circle event was only for the top two grades of membership. I thought that such elitism had disappeared! Even at the Guest Services desk there was a special position for Elite and Suite guests. I appreciate that this is the ship’s Maiden season, but it was clear that some of the crew were inexperienced or poorly trained. Unlike other cruises we have been on, we never saw the Captain once!
