First and Last Time
Terry Brister | November 11, 2021 | Princess Cruises | Regal Princess
Short 5 day cruise on Regal Princess, one of the first after lockdown.
We were told that there would be limited numbers on board so we thought it an ideal opportunity to sample a large cruise ship as we are more inclined to the smaller ships (i.e. less than a thousand passengers)
Unfortunately it seems that instead of around 50% occupancy there was around 75%. Doesn’t sound much BUT trying to find somewhere to sit and have a drink in any of the bars was very difficult so I shudder to think what it would be like with full occupancy.
Occasionally some areas in the bars were cordoned off for “private functions”. Considering how small one of these bars (Wheelhouse Bar) was is so inconsiderate.
Positives: The cabins were fairly well appointed but the bathroom was small.
Generally the crew were excellent except for 1 or 2 working in the bars.
Restaurant crew were exceptional and the food in the main restaurant was very good.
It was an interesting experience but one we shall not consider in the future
