Royal Princess – 2 night taster

We have just returned from the 2 day trip to Guernsey (although we didnƒ??t get there due to sea swell and winds).

The ship is quite tasteful in d??cor, muted beige mainly, and not at all like the American glitzy ships. Cabins were quite small, so was the balcony. There was no tea/coffee facilities in the cabin. On asking if there was kettle etc. provided we were told they were not provided due to health and safety! I think that was what we missed most not being to make a cup of tea. We could have ordered through room service but prefer the freedom to make a cuppa when we wanted one. The cabin also was ƒ??missingƒ?? a small settee ƒ?? we had a desk on one side and a fridge with a unit above it.

The bathroom also had a shower curtain, quite old fashioned, as most new ships have a sliding screen around the shower. As Elite members we read we were to be given upgraded toiletries the same as a Suite but all we got was a 50ml body lotion and a disc of soap!

The food was excellent and dining room staff very efficient and pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble. Getting a table for 2 was no problem early evening.

Shops were pretty glitzy and quite expensive ƒ?? particularly the perfumes.

The theatre was well laid out with no pillars obstructing your view. Seats were comfortable and well staggered. The ƒ??Colours of the Worldƒ?? show was very good but did not rate too highly the ABBA tribute Arrival.

We would holiday on Royal Princess again but would book a higher grade cabin than BE and hope it would be a bit bigger.
