Covid on Sky Princess
Ian Belnikoff | July 3, 2022 | Princess Cruises | Sky Princess
First 9 days of the cruise were fine, but then my wife contracted Covid. We were confined to a cabin on Dolphin deck with hundreds of similar passengers. I was told there were over 400 cases. We were locked in on the deck, had to rely on Room Service for food. The service was poor, 30 minutes to get through on the phone, and on one occasion had to wait another 90 minutes for delivery. Food was lukewarm at best, sometimes inedible. Cabin wasn’t cleaned at all, given dirty towel at the start, had to request fresh towels, hand soap and toilet paper. Ship was late returning to Southampton, we were the last to leave, escorted off like criminals. Due to late disembarkation, Captain opened the buffet to departing passengers but forgot about those in isolation. Guest Services would not answer the phone so had to dial 911 to ask to be fed. Some poor quality food was then distributed amongst the isolated passengers.
Long time in the waiting
Scepticism over the cruise before we went because of covid but had an excellent cruise and enjoyed everything about it.
Wonderful ship, decor, service, food, friendship, music, lectures, entertainment, dining....everything we could wish for....superlative!!!
