The itinerary was very good & I always enjoy an extended time cruise(this was 24 days)
The ship is not new but the public spaces have been totally refurbished in a modern style.
By todays standards the cabins are “dated” in that the wood is a dark brown.
However the cabins have plenty of storage space & are kept very clean by the attentive stewards.
The balcony cabins have very small balconies but enough for two reclining chairs, although you could not fully recline! The only problem cabin wise is the air conditioning & this seems to be throughout the ship.
The thermostats don’t seem to work & it is necessary to call an engineer to adjust them.
Food is varied & more than adequate with a served buffet.
People with special dietry need are well catered for & a meeting is held with the head chef on the first day to discus requirements.
I used both speciality restaurants & enjoyed them both.
Drinks are reasonably priced but personally not being a big drinker i did not take a drinks package althouh I did buy a water package for about £10 for the whole cruise.
You have to go to the lower deck bar to refil your flask.
All the staff are very friendly & could not be more helpful.
They work very hard to keep the ship clean & guests satisfied.
For the time being they are user friendly for disabled guests with as yet no electric wheelchair restrictions.
As an aside i mention that the crew monitor unoccupied sun loungers with towels on them around the pool & remove belongings when no one uses them after a reasonable time.
The belongings are placed on a table for collection or taken as lost property at the end of the day.
Entertainment is very good with interesting speakers & many daytime activities.
Excursions are similar to other cruise lines although they do offer “at ease” trips with very low activity for less mobile passengers.
So I certainly enjoyed my time aboard & Ambassador will continue to have my custom.
