I liked the Britannia ship and our obstructed balcony cabin on deck 8(G) was very clean and comfortable. The cabin steward Sevio kept the cabin clean and looked after us well. The food was very good in the Meridian main dining room and as we were on freedom dining and willing to share a table, we never had to wait to be seated.
The food in the Horizan buffet was very good and we had a lovely cooked English breakfast. However at lunch time there was only water and tea and coffee on offer without purchasing a different drink. I found other cruise ships had more choice.
As the weather was not good from day two, we found it difficult to find a seat during the day and especially after dinner where it was virtually non existent until very late in the evening. Due to this we spent more time in our cabin than we would normally do.
The biggest disappointment for us was that the cruise was advertised as a Norwegian Fjords cruise, but we didn’t see any fjords. It should have been sold as a Norwegian towns cruise. We would have had to spend additional money on trips in order to see the fjords. We decided not to do this due to the wet weather and my husband’s mobility. We would much have preferred to be actually cruising the fjords. The final port was Zeebrugge and I had booked tickets on the bus to visit Bruge. Unfortunately the captain decided not to dock and we spent the last day at sea which was very disappointing.
