Having cruised with P&O for 25 years I can say that standards have fallen markedly.
Staffing levels now poor.
Cabin steward was good.
Bar/ pool staffing levels negligible.
Cuts to services- no turn down service at night.
Only one set of towels per day.
Food quality much poorer and portions smaller.
Restaurant staff over stretched.
Alternative restaurants, Epicurean and Sindhu, are now far too expensive and food quality poor.
The curry dish was just spicy with no other flavour.
The fish in Epicurean was dreadfully undercooked.
Also in The Glass House one tempura prawn cooked, the other raw.
At a Loyalty Lunch no officers were in attendance and the reason given was ‘ to prevent any spread of illness’ and yet at a Loyalty Evening event there were Officers gathered in a group by the bar.
No interaction with passengers but standing next to us!! Not acceptable. The decor inside the ship is tired, a full refurb needed.
In conclusion I have decided that loyalty to this cruise line is now under review and in probability I will try another cruise line for my next trip.
P&O must do better.
