If I’m honest, I didn’t enjoy this cruise. It was a long trip down to Southampton on the coach to start with. When we got to the port, there were a lot of people with coughs and colds; this should have set alarm bells ringing. Some of the ports were not brilliant. At one of the ports, Madeira, it was a religious festival, so not a lot was open, especially the toboggan run, which is one of the main features there. Could we not have gone on a different day? The eclipse was amazing. The second week was a bit of a washout, as both my parents became quite ill with the flu picked up on the ship.
