We sailed on P&Os Aurora to Norway on 12/03/2023 and returned on 24/03.2023 hoping to see the Northern Lights.
We did see them and they were spectacular.
We stood near the Sports Court, where the lights had been turned off so that we had a better chance of seeing them.
It was -6c and ice covered the deck, but after about 15 minutes we started to see light appearing behind a cloud.
The cloud disappeared and there was the fantastic light show.
They started a pale yellow, and then the colours became brighter merging into shades of green, blue and orange.
Aurora is now showing her age at 23 years old, but she is still our best P&O ship.
On the way back in the North Sea, we sailed into a massive storm with winds reported at 120 mph.
Aurora just sailed through it even though she rocked a bit at times.
As usual we introduced our table companions and others that we met, to the benefits of booking with Bolsover Cruise Club.
The benefits that we enjoy came as a surprise to some of them, so long may that continue.
I have rated the cruise experience at 5 because it did what it said on the tin.
