Just returned from a wonderful, relaxing cruise to the Baltics on beautiful Britannia.
Was apprehensive after reading dreadful reviews of recent P&O cruises but should not have worried at all.
Weather was amazing, ship was spotless, ALL crew members were polite, smiley and happy to chat.
Cabin…larger inside on C deck aft….was lovely.
Very spacious and had everything we needed.
Loved the powerful shower…I’ve never been so clean ! Food on board was amazing.
Horizon buffet had some gorgeous food and lots to choose from.
Peninsular MDR menus were a little dull but we always found something nice.
The glazed tuna steak was the best I’ve ever tasted with the steak pudding coming a close second.
Epicurean was epic.
Beach House was a little underwhelming but we didn’t leave hungry ! My two daughters travelling with us loved the late night buffet but I didn’t try it.
Too late for my old constitution ! Entertainment was good.
Always found something to see in the evenings.
Highlights were: La Voix, Lee Mead, Marco Pierre White, Tucker ( comedian ) , Anna belle ( singer ) and singing group Odyysey.
Headliners shows were OK but I wish they would insert a bit of light and shade.
Loud bits are only awesome when there are some quiet bits ! Loud bits for 50 minutes are just shouting to music ! Anyway, I could ramble on forever but in all we had a wonderful time and visited some wonderful places in weather that you can usually only dream about ! Can’t wait to go again.
Is there anything we didn’t like ??? Of course.
Shore excursions are a blatant rip off.
We paid £192 for the Tivoli on your Own trip which turned out to be a ten minute coach ride, entrance to the park and NOTHING else.
All the rides were £10 pp extra and 3 coffees and a bottle of water £36.
Scandalous! My girls went on the Husky trek in Tallinn.
£70 each to walk a stranger’s dog…!!! Madness ! Another thing we disliked was the ridiculous wine prices on board..nearly £10 for a glass of cooking plonk that would be about £4.99 a bottle ashore.
Crazy.
And the recommended wines on the MDR menu…come on…who can afford £70 for a bottle of wine to accompany a pork chop and a portion of jam roll poly ? !
