We have sailed in Aurora many times and is a favourite ship especially as it’s adult only.
This time we sailed to the Fjords on a 12 night cruise, not an area we have sailed before and thoroughly enjoyed the itinerary.
Staff are friendly and helpful and although we now have more of a portion control going on in the main dining rooms since Covid we both found that we had plenty to eat in the evening you can always ask for a side of vegetables or chips if you feel you need more.
Since Covid you no longer get an evening turn down, towel sculpture’s, chocolate on your pillow, do we really need it, we don’t think so.
Also you no longer get bottles or cans of water supplied on embarkation day.
We found our restaurant waiters not quite as forthcoming with the extras like ice cream when you order dessert as we have had in the past.
Unfortunately gone are the days of sit down afternoon tea, however it is still available in the self service restaurant but you no longer get sausage rolls, toasted sandwiches or mini Cornish pasties, but you do get lunch lasting until 5pm if that’s what you want.
Our balcony cabin on A deck near aft, had plenty of storage enough for 3 people in fact, the wardrobes are by the bed so it can make it difficult getting into the wardrobes if someone is sitting side on on the bed.
On a side we booked via Bolsover and as usual fantastic friendly staff.
