The trip got off to a frustrating start

If this had been my first cruise I would never cruise again.

This ship might have accommodation for 6000 but it simply cannot cope with that number; 4000 would be a better maximum.

We arrived at the designated time of 13:00 and queued for 2 hours 45 minutes to get on board.

The chaos of boarding was indicative of the rest of the cruise: dreadful.

Once on board the food and drinks outlets were closed for an hour for the safety muster.

Explain a wait of nearly 4 hours to an 8 year old who hasn’t eaten since breakfast.

They don’t understand the concept of incompetence.

Not did I until I made the mistake of sailing on MSC Virtuosa.

Even the safety muster was ridiculously incompetent.

On a ship that size it should have been professional and make sense: it was rubbish.

When we finally got to the buffet we realised it was the only food outlet open for 6000 people, most of whom had queued as we had.

Ridiculous.

The food was ok: think supermarket value range.

Not a great selection but adequate.

I’ve never been on a ship built/designed for more than 3500 before but each and every one had a bigger and better laid out buffet, plus numerous alternative food outlets.

Not enough cutlery, tables, staff.

Drinks call buttons on every table but they didn’t work.

The staff were mostly lovely but totally overwhelmed.

They tried.

I could go on about a lot more issues but suffice to say that there are plenty of them.

I could not recommend a trip on MSC Virtuosa.
