Having cruised twice before on Splendor we were a little disappointed with Mariner.
The itinerary was great as it sandwiched the adventure of going up the Amazon 1,000 miles with six stops in the Caribbean.
Our major complaint was that every time you went for your evening meal you had to wait at least 30 minutes to be seated no mater what time you went down.
However, after completing all the way up to the officer in charge Food and beverage it was partly resolved.
We had a table reserved for 20-00hrs which was fine but it did remove the Dine any time benefit.
Also ,by the time you got served and finished your meal you had missed all the shows.
In my opinion they were either short staffed in the dining room or the kitchen or both.
However, the staff in the dining room and indeed the whole ship were very helpful and pleasant.
The ship was not up to the standard I expected from Regent and would suggest they either retire it or at least undertake a major refit.
