This cruise was to be the beginning of our fiftieth Wedding Anniversary celebrations, and from past experience on Quest and Journey, we had no qualms about choosing Azamara Pursuit, sadly we feel let down for various reasons.
Firstly – No Casino on ship, we were not made aware of this, when asked why not, we were told that the cruise line were doing away with them as they weren’t profitable! We are not heavy gamblers but found it fun to do something other than sit in bars all evening and a great way to meet other guests and enjoy a bit of banter.
On board entertainment very mediocre.
Shore excursions – very expensive in our opinion, and many of the other guests we spoke to were in agreement with us! For example, Santos, we booked tram ride trip which cost us 49$ each, (98$ dollars in total) for a short coach Trip and ride on a tram, we felt this was an awful amount of money, when speaking to other guests which took a taxi ride for 5$ (up to four people) and 1$ the same tram ride! Disgraceful.
Itinerary poor, were left wondering why we were in some places, possibly only to fuel up the Ship,! We except that no one can predict the weather, but the two days on the ship at sea, because Of the weather conditions, you need to find other things to do, Spa treatments very Expensive, so try bingo, 30$ game and 10$ for a single card – prize T-shirt! for the single Card, and for your information 44 people attended this game, takings 1,760$, jackpot Prize 570$ giving Azamara profits 1,190$ for a thirty minute game, not bad profit is it!
