There were good points, but delays got in the way

Cruise started in Malta and our 2nd stop was Trieste.

P&O must have known about the major sailing regatta for some time, but only informed us the day before that we would be moored in the industrial port.

We arrived whilst dark and were awakened by intense yard lights shining into the cabin.

These caused a server headache for me, but a full blown migraine for my wife, so we lost the day.

A simple warning of this, for those who like to keep doors and curtains open would have been helpful.

Yes, hindsight says, we should have predicted this, but we are novice cruisers.

The 2nd issue was Malta Airport.

Fine on the way in to the ship and all worked well.

Disembarkation up to the airport doors was also very good.

However, once through those doors, it was utter chaos.

The airport is too small to handle that number of passengers.

We stood for one & half hours, in overcrowded, hot conditions.

It appears there are not enough buses to move people to their planes and those available seem to take a weird route to do so.

If we cruise again, we’ll be looking for a trip that arrives at one location, but fly’s home from another.

Currently, I won’t be looking to use Malta again.
