Where to start…the standards of most things have dropped..the exception being the speciality restauarants…although i hate having to pay extra, the standards in Sindhu and The Beach House were very good.
The entertainment was average, but ok, although again, having to pay extra for people i’ve never heard of (Ray Quinn) etc has to be wrong.
I do have a complaint re dresscodes…i made a special effort to wear a tux on Black Tie nights..to find quite a few wearing a lot less…BUT, i try to enter the Peninsular at lunchtime with a vest on and i’m refused entry..even though my female partner was also wearing a vest but that was deemed acceptable..i think P&O are breaking discrimination laws there!! The food in the selected dining restaurants was much smaller portions than previous years (not a bad thing for me), but also the choice and blandness of the food was noticeable by many customers.
I know they need to make up money for that lost through covid, but the excursion prices are very high in comparison with “doing it yourself”.
Many issues to address me thinks, but having said that, i love the Caribbean and its great vibe, fabulous climate and white sandy beaches…so i had a good time! I have a suggestion for future cruises..visit less places (ie 5 instead of 9), but stay overnight in each that we do visit, so we get to see the nightlife as well as the daytime..eg Barbados 2 nights, day3 at sea, Aruba 2 nights, day6 at sea, St Maarten 2 nights, day 9 at sea, Antigua 2 nights, day 12 at sea, St Lucia 2 nights, day 15 at sea.
Day 16 fly home from Barbados.
