Cleanliness and service levels were of a high standard.
The food was of a good standard but the choice within each course not as appealing as it used to be.
All the above were at best only marginally better than P &O it’s sister company.
Cunard, however, rip you off with the price of drinks to which is added a compulsory service charge of 15%.
e.g.
a 150 cl glass of house white and a 250 cl glass of house red cost $23.
A bottle of rose cost $42 compared with exactly the same bottle on P&O costing £27.
On excursions, a short boat ride from Santa Marguerita to Portofino with a short guided tour costs $49 when my wife and I, under our own steam did it for €10.
All other excursions were similarly overpriced and cheaper on P&O.
We will not use Cunard ever again and will actively encourage others not to.
