Summary of events following arrival at JFK airport Terminal 8, BA flight 117, 30 June 23: * Arrived after collecting our baggage 11:00 approx (USA time) * Met my two young girl representatives who were not very responsive when we gave our names.
We waited for others to join us.
* We were singled out from the group by one of representative to accompany her on the air train to Terminal 4 and meet up with another group.
* On arrival at Terminal 4 we asked where the other passengers were, expecting them to be waiting for us however we had to wait for them to arrive.
* Met the group and left Terminal 4, 2 hours later by minibus at 13:00 approx.
* We expected to be taken to the Hilton Hotel however the driver was instructed to go to the cruise terminal to drop off our baggage.
* We arrived after being amongst congested traffic at NY Cruise Terminal at 14:00 approx.
* The driver was then to take us to the Hilton Hotel however we and the group felt this was crazy bearing in mind the congestion to go into the city and return to the Terminal.
* I spoke to a lady in the Terminal who was in charge and explained what we all wished to do she agreed.
* We went through security and were given a number (35) which would be called out to queue for registration.
* We Registered but this did not happen well after our arrival.
* There were no complementary snacks however water was eventually available and remember we had been on an 7+ hour plus flight and 3 hours to get to the terminal * Our number was called to join the queue for embarkation but then told to sit down, our number wasn’t called again however we joined the queue and got on the ship 22:15.
10 1/4 hours after arrival at JFK and 8 1/4 hours at the cruise arrival We were surprised there was no Cunard officer/s overseeing the embarkation and therefore you Cunard were not aware of the chaos that reigned.
We did appreciate the reason for the delay but there is no excuse for the lack of organise on embarkation.
