This cruise had strengths, but also flaws

Sailed with P&O many times and generally found them very good.

Our latest sailing (Malta to the Canary Isles) was OK with many good points eg friendly and helpful staff, good food etc, but we had the following negatives to report.

1.

We went on five guided trips of which three were very good.

However a trip in Tangier was spoilt because the local guide’s English was incomprehensible and he took no account of the fact that some of the older members of the group were being left behind.

The trip around Funchal comprised a visit to two viewing points where we spent half an hour at each when five minutes would have been ample.

Very poor value for money.

2.

When we booked our cabin we were not informed that there would be two extra wall mounted beds, thereby restricting our movements.

3.

The rule about not booking sun beds appeared to be overlooked.

It was obvious that many people dumped their towels and went off to do other things but no action was taken by staff to remove them.

4.

Walking on the Promenade deck was fine until we reached the starboard bow, where there was a disgusting stench of sewerage.

Sorry to be a bit downcast, but you did ask for our comments.
