The ship was newish , so very well appointed.
The staff and crew were excellent and the entertainment also very good.
The food was good quality but not as good as in the past although I understand that times have moved on.
However, thee were some issues for me.
I did not enjoy being on a ship holding 5000 passengers.
As a solo traveller I have never felt so lonely.
That is partly my fault but it was nearly impossible to bump into anybody twice.
I can live with dining alone but on previous P&O cruises there has been formal dining with the option of fixed seating so that you meet people around the table every day.
The number of restaurants also meant that you were less likely to see the same people again.
Despite there being a huge number of sun loungers about, on sea days it was very difficult to find a spare one in a reasonable location.
Laying out of towels and then disappearing was rife and although the staff threatened to move unattended loungers they did nothing about it.
I therefore spent more time on my balcony than intended.
I have not been on a cruise ship for a while so I was unfamiliar with the “My Holiday” App.
It took me a while to work out what to do and by then getting first choices for meals and shows was difficult.
I ended up dining most nights about 6.00pm as I didn’t want to eat at 9.00pm.
This shortened the day and extended the evening.
On previous cruises there was more general organised entertainment during the day, Now it is more about advertising and selling products.
I play bridge and I would have thought that bridge sessions would have been organised on a daily basis.
I am sure there would have been sufficient interest, particularly with more elderly passengers.
