We joined Ventura in Southampton on the 6th of April for an 11 night cruise taking in Santander, Vigo, Lisbon, Porto and Cherbourg.

Fortunately for the time of year the weather was good until the last night as there was a storm in the English channel resulting in the ship being around 3 hours late into Southampton.

This was the 3rd time we have been on Ventura the 1st time going back to 2015 and things have deteriated since then, the menus in the main restaurants have gone downhill some things now you have to pay extra for which years ago were just normal choices such as prawn cocktails and lobster tails on the formal nights.

The layout in the buffet restaurant was awful even going back to 2015 it hasn’t changed at all people end up going in all directions to choose food.

Overall the ships décor seems very dated compared to modern ships, No problems with the crew or cabin stewards I think they all work very hard.

I can’t comment on the entertainment as we never went to any shows even though the in cabin entertainment was pretty poor watching old episodes of classic comedy programs on a very small tv screen.

I did enjoy the ports of call but needless to say I won’t be booking any more Ventura cruises.
