Really enjoyable cruise on Arcadia with our daughter & husband Son & partner around the canaries & Madeira.
The weather was kind to us as well but the bay of Biscay was a little bumpy on the way back but not too bad that it spoilt our fun together.
The food was really good in club dining and the waiters Saffee & Jumar incredible the only disappointment with this cruise was the family Christmas party in Sindhu the service was appalling compared to our club dining waiters the plates were stone cold and the food was certainly not Indian ( they do advertise it now as Indian fusion) but the menu was terrible the lamb chop starter was big enough for a main ( do these come in pre prepared I wonder) they are huge wrapped in mashed potatoes and fried no taste and by the time the last of the 6 eating were served not very warm the main of prawns was tasteless and again cold by the time it hit the cold plate but mixed with a strong cheese could not taste the prawns or any Indian delicate spices the chef’s in this kitchen should be ashamed at what they are sending out it’s the worst meal we have ever had on a
P & O ship we didn’t complain at the time because our daughter was treating us for Christmas and that would have really ruined the evening as we really enjoyed the company we were with so all made an effort to to try & enjoy the meal at £25 extra a head it was a disgrace on a plate.
I did send a complaint to the food & beverage manager but as it was towards the end of the cruise I didn’t receive a reply.
The entertainment was very good nice to see Maurice grumblweed again, the headlines were extremely talented and the entertainment staff were very good especially Jay he was full of fun.
The ship is now looking very smart but in need of a glass house & beach house to liven the paid dining venues up the grill is still excellent the wine list though needs to stock the same as Ventura & Britannia as the choices of red are not as good.
The cabin we were in was really nice very clean with plenty of space and an excellent steward Kaushik he kept it spotless and it was always done after our return from breakfast first class service.
All in all except Sindhu a terrific cruise with our family so nice to have us all together enjoying life looking forward to the next one together
