Iona is a wonderful ship, however on cruise G223 July 23rd from Southampton we had more port & shore excursions cancelled on this 7 night cruise than 20+ previous cruises with P&O.
Gieranger cancelled substituted with Hellyslyt which was then also cancelled both time shore excursions cancelled.
Then Haugsund left 4 hours early so yet another shore excursion cancelled.
Due to leaving 4hours early we saw the White cliffs of Dover at 7.20pm, this is the 1st time we cruised by Dover in daylight.
We have been to Norway & The Baltic several times and never been that early in the English Channel, would sooner have left at advertised time and done shore excursion.
Obviously Iona doesn’t stick remotely to it’s programme.
This was our 1st cruise since Covid restrictions not impressed at all.
Must say Iona is lovely ship and the food was as good as usual, but we prefer set dining where you actually get to know fellow passengers rather than freedom dining which means waiting for you phone to buzz to let you know that a table is ready.
