We’ve been on several Celebrity cruises including the Sillouhette previously.
On this occasion it’s fair to say it was not ‘outstanding’.
The staff were at times overwhelmed, especially in the Sunset Bar, Sky Lounge many staff appeared to be still training and one or two were rude – in the Ensemble Lounge I was told by the barman he only drank water so I’d have to make my own choice when I asked what mixer he’d recommend with a particular drink.
That should be his skill & knowledge set.
The food in the main restaurant was average with only one meal standing out a Beef Wellington – which was lovely.
The staff attention to detail and attentiveness wasn’t to the same standard as previous cruises.
The Tuscan Grill was slow service, a beef ragu had 3 pieces of meat in it – 1 edible and 2 pieces of fatty meat! Staff in there were friendly though.
The Ocean View Restaurant was as always full of staff being friendly & polite and a good choice of food.
The room clean as was the boat in general – no one stood out for making an effort – we travelled with friends who were cruising for the first time, it was disappointing because we wanted them to experience what we had in the past.
It may have been because it was short break to Amsterdam & Bruges so a faster turn around but on the whole even though we had a lovely time – I didn’t get off the boat feeling like a princess! Which is a standard joke when we cruise – the Celebrity Cruise teams have always left us feeling like we had special break.
Overall it was a nice break but sadly not outstanding!
