Star Princess is a beautiful ship.
The staff, the accommodation, the food and drink were all as good as we expected based on our previous cruises aboard Sky Princess.
The reason I have not rated this cruise a 5 star experience is because of a poor experience with Princess’s transfer from Barcelona airport to the ship.
Provided by local agents and hampered by protests and local strikes, the service descended into chaos.
The local operatives did not have the high level of customer service that Princess crew usually adhere to.
I was also disappointed with a vastly reduced OceanNow service.
Whether this was just on Star or across the fleet, I am unsure.
Finally and my biggest gripe was very poor customer service at breakfast in one of the MDRs.
Despite assurances that things would improve, they didn’t.
Guest services dealt with my request to have the issue escalated after the third morning and it was.
Having flagged this issues up, I can honestly say that everything else was amazing and if a 4.75 star option was available, I would glady give this amazing cruise, that rating.
