Trip was great up until about day 3 of the return Atlantic crossing, (great ship, good food, entertainment a bit bland and repetitive) we could tell the weather was not great at our final port, Ponta del Garda so the captain with access to far more information would have known this.
Despite this we ploughed on rather than make the decision to go to another port with more chance of landing.
So the end result was we didn’t get in and had a total of 9 days at sea.
This was a very disappointing end to the cruise and we are convinced this was done for the convenience of P&O as the ship was off for refit and they did not want to risk being late.
Disembarkation was very chaotic at Ocean terminal with passengers leaving at the same time as upwards of 1500 contractors trying to board, a situation that would never occur on a normal changeover day.
