The northern Europe trip was great especially with the overnight stay, gave us time to explore .
The cabin was excellent, clean and the steward we had was brilliant.
The shore excursion went well and loved the welcome aboard package.
Great value for money.
Bolsover travel printed our labels for luggage which was great took the stress out of finding a printer .
We both felt that the ship was overcrowded this time .
Dining was hit and miss, where the staff could not manage the queues effectively and allowed delays to occur.
After waiting so long enquired why the queue wasn’t going down and was then moved to another restaurant to eat , by the staff.
Food came with items missing and wrong items .
Trying to get a drink at a bar was a nightmare, so found a seat and waited, and waited after the waiter passed several times knowing we were waiting, he cleaned the table beforehand so we could sit.
Felt ignored .
Finally after a hour wait we got our drinks.
We didn’t like the kids sat up in the smoking area, it was our only chance to get away from them .
It was absolutely freezing this trip and was disappointed that P&O couldn’t have put some kind of heating in the smoking area or put the chairs in a bit more sheltered area .
Felt the staff were more abrupt on the bars with the exception of the crows nest.
Was not an enjoyable cruise long waits for dinner and drinks .
This cruise was overpacked and I felt this inpact the service from the staff.
They work incredibly hard and such a different experience from first time on Iona .
Felt a lot more hectic and rowdy .
We tried to avoid half term to avoid kids by going the week before my birthday but they were quite a lot around which totally surprised us.
Maybe we should choose an adult only ship next time but from what we’ve heard P O are even making those ships family friendly so might have to rethink about cruising to an alternative relaxing holiday away.
