Cruise rather spoilt by the weather – visit to Guernsey was one day late and Ventura was also calling – some 3 to 4k cruise passengers on the island – not good!!
Food on board was “mixed”.

Initial lunch (Loyalty level) on arrival and speciality restaurants were VERY good, Main restaurant and buffet were quite poor and not to previous standard.

Breakfasts in particular were poor with Bacon and sausage overcooked and dried up.

Not all orders from the table were correctly delivered and “hot” drinks were lukewarm – this applied all 3 days.
Generally we felt that P&O standards has slipped – we have been cruising with P&O since Oriana in 1999 and have seen a gradual decline from Silver service on Oriana to plated service on Arcadia – this couples with a gradual decline in overall quality of food.

As I said – with the exception of the speciality restaurants.
This decline on P&O is in contrast with Cunard where standards have been better maintained – and prices not very much more than P&O on a like for like basis.

Comparison of price made using a deck 5 forward balcony cabin Q Vic to Arcadia first sitting – same size ship on same hull.
