Our cabin 438 turned out to be unsuitable.
We had booked this cabin last year and had to move due to the constant loud banging and creaking noises.
We were informed that when the Sky Princess went in for a refit the problem would be solved.
It was not.
After 2 nights with no sleep and constantly answering the door as it sounded like someone was knocking on the cabin door we requested to change cabins.
The housekeeping and hotel managers visited our cabin and agreed it was too noisy and unsuitable to stay in that cabin, the noises could even be heard outside the cabin in the corridor as well as inside the cabin.
The cabin itself is perfectly situated and only 1 floor down to the main hub of the ship.
We were moved to a higher floor and finally settled in to our cruise.
We were assisted by housekeeping to move cabins.
The staff onboard we all amazing, always happy to help and went out of their way to ensure that our 30th wedding anniversary was really special.
The entertainment was excellent with modern and up to date shows.
Guest entertainers were good except for a couple that we had seen before and did not go and see as we knew we would not enjoy their performances.
There was something for everyone going on in the ship every day.
The food was excellent.
We have sailed frequently with P&O, Cunard and Princess including all three this year and have to say the food on Princess is still of a very high standard with an extensive menu each day and daily changes to the breakfast menu too which we were used to on P&O and Cunard pre covid but sadly not any more, they have extensively scaled down their menus and portion sizes.
Well done Princess for another great cruise and memorable anniversary.
The only thing we would have changed allowing of smoking In the casino.
We enjoy the casino but not on Princess because of the stench of cigarettes.
The only other disappointment was the weather as we were caught in up in storm Ciaran so we had high sea swells and gale force winds especially crossing the BOB.
Fortunately we are seasoned cruisers and took it in our stride and made the most of the lovely weather when it came.
